It is believed the positive subliminal effects of music and audio are gone today from using lossy formats such as mp3 and AAC which is the standard for the internet, music, and television. We are looking for funds to conduct a study to prove whether or not this is true.
Hearing is one of the 5 senses and is crucial in life and almost all entertainment. The article below was written because switching back to previous audio standards has had positive effects in my life. (Please read the testimony below in the right column and check out the photo gallery)

Note: The standards for music have been dramatically lowered for over a decade which started with the iTunes Store and YouTube. The world's most successful sound engineer with 11 Grammys, Bob Ludwig, says the new standards fatigue our ears and hurt record sales. Hearing loss is on a dramatic rise and is expected to double by 2060 according to John Hopkins researchers (CNBC).
A new breakthrough scientific study will be conducted to test current standards for music recording audio quality to see if it has declined our mental brain stimulation and emotional benefits from listening to music. This fact would logically negatively affect society at large. It is believed that the population isn't getting as much of the subliminal and subconscious health benefits of listening to music such as reducing stress and increased energy.
The study will be conducted with a panel of doctors using multiple test subjects tested under a functional MRI and QEG machines to study the brain as they listen to the same song through various audio files. It is believed that today’s audio coming from the tech industry is much less stimulating to the brain (specifically the emotional subconscious mind)
The study will cost $150,000 for the use of the functional MRI machines and doctors.
$50,000 is needed for the use of QEG machines which may give a better result.

Today, everyone cares about having the best phone, TV, computer, car, house, food, supplements, medicine, or mechanical device. People always want the latest, greatest, high quality this and HD that, but don't even realize that when it comes to music, we are getting robbed of good sound quality constantly. A very probable theory is that the tech industry knows very well that music is their biggest competition. Steve Jobs quoted that "all artists steal from each other." That statement lacks any appreciation for music and talented artists. The tech industry is not interested in great sounding mesmerizing music because that would mean less clicks and less interest in tech programs. Until Steve Jobs created iTunes, computer techs were usually frowned upon because too much of their life was spent on a computer. That has now changed because of iTunes and the iPhone, which seemed to be fun and cool to society, but only became popular by taking advantage of the music industry and putting ALL RECORD LABELS out of business. All record labels got bought by the movie labels Warner Brothers, Universal and Sony. That fact has somehow gotten swept under the rug. iTunes is the foundation for the rise of Apple. Today, the average person turns to their [PHONE, COMPUTER, IPAD, TV, or TEXT] when they are bored. It used to be they would turn to their [STEREO, TV, BOOK, SPORT, GAME, or ACTUALLY TALK]. Today, I have personally seen entire families of 6 people sitting around dinner tables on a beautiful waterfront deck in front of live music each one looking at their phone in silence all at the same time for 20 minutes. The tech industry is using subconscious programming to control our minds and interests in their favor and sacrificing integrity without any care for music.

Digital streaming is now becoming the new standard for audio. The quality of streaming is so poor and compressed with about 10% of the data compared to a CD it's like listening to cheap speakers. Some people might not hear the difference, but the subtle nuances are lost through streaming, Bluetooth, and low quality mp3 that can be the difference between making the listener happy and uplifting their spirits if they're having a bad day as opposed to just leaving the listener in a semi-amused state of mind. There are many articles online about thesubliminal effects of music on the subconscious mind such as making a person happier, energetic, confident, or reducing stress. These effects are greatly lessened with lossy formats such as mp3, AAC, Bluetooth and streaming. When you get more of the full sound waves you get more lasting effects from music even if you can't hear it because the subconscious does hear it and is affected by subtleties, especially more soothing sounds.

The mid to late 80s were the peak of analog recordings. Vinyl records produced then were incredibly smooth (no pops or cracks) and came out with excellent dynamic range and full of character. The sound waves on the original vinyl records are the full seamless sound waves that came out of the voice or instruments, into a microphone, and on to a tape deck, which was then mixed and mastered for vinyl records. Cassette tapes contained the full seamless sound wave and were a great convenience compared to vinyl. They had life, character, volume, and clarity but some cassettes lacked quality due to different remixes and age. Usually there was a slight audible hum from the movement of the tape, however, Michael Jackson's Bad album on cassette is all around brilliant especially compared to what is sold on iTunes. Some cassette players reeled the tape slow and caused the sound to be flat. Sony Walkmans made in the 90s were dependable and very clear sounding. From experience, cassette players today aren't made with the same sound quality or integrity.
The 90s were the new era of digital recordings, digital studios, and digital CDs. The studios could now do more with editing, copying and pasting, and pitch correction. For the first time ever musicians didn't have to play their instruments as well or sing the correct notes in order for recordings to sound good. CDs were an amazing invention and provided an easier way to listen to music by fast forwarding or skipping to the next song. They were convenient, portable and easily replicated for illegal consumption, which started the fall of the music industry. It's amazing how digital engineers could make music with artificial sound waves created by using two numbers (the digital code of zeros and ones, e.g., 0001110110).
Today, to meet the convenience of not using wires or CDs we have the invention of streaming, Bluetooth, and mp3. Again, it is amazing that somehow digital engineers were able to create even more artificial sound waves that are highly compressed and missing close to 90 percent of the data of the original recordings to make it easier for storage, streaming services, internet, and WiFi. The result is a loss of fullness similar to reducing an orchestra of a hundred members down to twenty. The quality is just enough sound data to trick your ears, but greatly lacks feeling and emotion felt in the heart and soul by those attuned to the emotional part of music. The quality not only lacks feeling and emotion, but can instead sometimes feel dissonant or harsh and create an aversion even if it is a wonderful song. The equivalent in photography would be using just enough pixels to make out the picture, but ruining the colors, clarity and beauty of the image. It's like tasting our favorite foods with only twenty percent of the flavor! Why are we selling ourselves short of having the full experience of listening to music? Some people notice it more than others, but either way what you're getting is 10 to 25 percent of the sound waves. For some it's just a subtle effect, but I believe it affects the whole world to some degree. I doubt I would have become a musician if I was born today because the sound is not inspiring to me and probably many others who were born with musical gifts.
There are people that don't hear the difference, but side by side comparisons of these forms of music through a good stereo make the quality difference very apparent: High quality vinyls actually sound the fullest, clearest and lively; CDs sound smooth and crisp, but with a slight blur or fogginess in the bass frequencies; mp3's sound louder than CDs, but blurry, choppy and monotone with less fullness, depth and nuances because of added compression; lastly, Bluetooth as well as streaming have much less character and musical expression as if they are being played through cheap speakers.
The most audible differences between high quality and low quality digital include more fullness, depth, smoothness and crispness with CDs or lossless formats contrary to mp3, AAC, Bluetooth and streaming which sound distastefully loud and blurry with the overall song being an unclear monotone mix in comparison and much less capable of moving a person emotionally.
Advice For Greater Enjoyment of Music
Because most of the audio today is controlled by computer tech companies that have no musical background or trained ears or artistic creative talent it can be very hard to find great audio. Today, I meet more and more people of all ages that say they don't listen to or enjoy music anymore. They tell me they turn it off in their car and rather prefer the silence. It seems for many other listeners it is just background noise to fill the silence. I believe this lack of emotion felt with music is because of the many reasons previously explained. Here is some advice to make the listening experience more enjoyable: Buy CDs and listen to them or download them using Apple Lossless, WAV, FLAC, or AIFF import settings. Don't buy the smaller, lesser quality files such as mp3 or AAC. Wait until the iTunes Store upgrades their music to Apple Lossless files before purchasing from them again. Don't worry about storage. Keep your favorite ten or twenty CDs on your phone at all times in the highest quality audio. That doesn't take up that much memory. Don't listen to streaming services until they upgrade to lossless audio. Use a good stereo with decent size speakers instead of a phone or the tiny Bluetooth speakers popular today that are usually only a single mono speaker. LG makes very affordable, great sounding, powerful stereos. Don't use Bluetooth for a wireless connection and skip the self-tuning eq settings that many companies want you to do because that changes the original eq settings and completely messes up what the professional sound engineer did to make the music sound its best. It's already great to begin with if you play it through the right stereo. Adding more treble and more bass is hardly necessary if the sound engineer did a great job on the album. Discover how listening to music can be more fulfilling and moving when you hear it in the sound quality preferred by the best musicians, producers and sound engineers. If possible, try listening to hit records on the original vinyls from the late 70s and 80s through a good stereo to experience music with full seamless sound waves. Spread the word and educate your friends and family. They might grow to like music even more!
In A Nutshell: Deleting more than 75 percent of the recorded musical sound waves to 'trick our ears' and make it easier for computers to process affects music in detrimental ways because it is a reduction of sound data which is the creative energy from the artist's heart and soul and it is being lessened as well as compressed which reduces the parameters of volume, clarity, feeling, and musical expression
Modern Vinyl Records
Vinyl records are gaining popularity and seem to be making a comeback. However, when purchasing vinyl records you have to buy the original vinyls recorded in analog studios and mastered from the original tapes. If a new band records in a digital studio and then releases a vinyl record it would be better to buy the CD. Once you convert the original sound waves into a digital recording you can never go back to full sound waves because the original waves were cut into millions of digital bits of data (numbers) with the natural full seamless sound waves no longer existing. As a rule of thumb, the more times you go through the conversion process the further away you are getting from the original sound wave and the feeling in the beautiful nuances of the instruments and music.
Evolution and Reduction of Sound Diagram:
The density of musical sound waves is being greatly reduced. Today, we are listening to broken fragmented sound waves as compared to seamless sound waves in the past. This can change a person's musical preference. The playing fields are now leveled in music because so much feeling is taken out of music today which hurts virtuoso musicians that trained their whole life to put feeling into music compared to untrained musicians with digitally programmed music and instruments. The human crescendo and decrescendo (expression and feeling) has been reduced. It also means less health benefits from listening to music. is very possible that research on brain wave activity will prove that CD quality sound has a greater benefit to the listener by stimulating more areas of the brain. More stimulation would mean better mental and physical health for everyone instead of just those that can consciously hear it.
A study will be conducted with brainwave imaging using functional MRI's to see the difference between Vinyl, CD's, AAC, mp3, and Bluetooth and their effects on the brain. The study will also test the difference between DVD, VHS, and YouTube. It is believed that the audio today has much less stimulation to the brain which hurts the whole music industry and society.

My testimonial: I am passionate about this because I am a well trained musician and can hear a difference in less than 5 seconds if comparing a song back to back in both files. There is a big difference in feeling and clarity. The sound coming out of speakers today sounds like music, but it is not the sound of music that made people fall in love with music. Musicians vs. DJ's: Digital music that isn't professionally mastered doesn't sound very good. Go to Mercury Mastering for before and after samples of radio hits to see how bad they sounded before a professional mastering company fixed them. For this reason, musicians that use digital mixers without any mastering for their live performances are at a great disadvantage compared to DJs that have all their music professionally mastered. Most of the time when I walk into a club with a live band the sound is very unclear, foggy, and hollow sounding. It'll take about a minute to figure out what song they are singing. This is the reason DJs are hired more often and usually draw larger crowds. To compete with the professional sound quality of DJs it would be better for the advanced musician to use analog mixers for much more clarity than digital mixers could ever have because it is the full sound vibrations.

Journalist: And looking back… what a legacy of songs. Seriously. There are few bands out there that can come close.
Steve Perry: And the funny thing about that is when you listen to these tracks on vinyl, not only do they sound unique, they sound emotionally so friendly on vinyl. Oh my God! After listening to it on vinyl, I didn't even want to hear it on CD! Because it just sounds like so where it was destined to go. It's where it was born. It's where it was headed. When we were recording, the target was, “how do we make this sound great on vinyl?” And all these steps along the way were geared towards making it sound amazing on vinyl. Then CDs came along. And people started adding more top and more bottom, more top and more bottom, and making it louder and louder. It didn't necessarily make it feel better, it just made it louder. And more bright. And you didn't hear the needle tracking in the groove. So, everybody thought, “Gosh, isn't that amazing, I don't hear a needle tracking. It's so clean sounding.” And that's true. I must admit, that was a plus. But when you go back to the sonic emotional aspect of analog, meaning a needle driving through a groove. It's amazing. And I just want to turn it up, and it's just so, so good. You just want to chew your teeth it sounds so, so good! (laughs) So, you know, it's just kind of exciting all over again is what I'm trying to say.
